The Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Power of arrest: Code of Practice) Order (Northern Ireland) 2016

Coming into operation in accordance with Article 1
The Department of Justice makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 23 of Schedule 2 to the Modern Slavery Act 20151 (“the 2015 Act”).
The Department of Justice has, in accordance with paragraph 23(1) of Schedule 2 to the 2015 Act, prepared a code of practice in connection with the paragraph 22 power of arrest of constables and enforcement officers
In pursuance of paragraph 23(6)(a), the Department of Justice has laid a draft of the code of practice before the Assembly.
Accordingly, the Department of Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 23(6)(b), makes the following Order.
