These Rules amend the Hybrid Schemes Quality Requirements Rules (Northern Ireland) 2012, in consequence of the Pensions Act (Northern Ireland) 2015 (c. 5 (N.I.)), to reflect the introduction of the alternative tests of scheme quality for defined benefit and hybrid schemes and the abolition of contracting-out for salary related pension schemes.

The Department for Communities1 makes the following Rules in exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(2) to (4) of the Pensions (No. 2) Act (Northern Ireland) 20082.
