Coming into operation

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs1 makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 2, 3, 3A and 3B(1) of the Plant Health Act (Northern Ireland) 19672, as read with paragraph 1A of Schedule 23 to the European Communities Act 1972.

This Order makes provision for a purpose mentioned in section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19724, and it appears to the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs that it is expedient for references to the European Union instruments mentioned in article 3(a) and 3(b) to be construed as references to those instruments as amended from time to time.
