Part 1 of these Regulations establishes a scheme for the payment of pensions and other benefits to firefighters in Northern Ireland from 1st April 2015. The scheme so established is a career average revalued earnings scheme.

CHAPTER 1Preliminary

Application of Part139

This Part—

a

supplements the rights conferred by or under chapter 4 of Part 4 of the Pension Schemes Act (transfer values); and

b

supplements the rights conferred by or under Chapter 5 of that Part (early leavers: cash transfer sums and contribution refunds) M1 and is without prejudice to that Chapter.
