1. These Regulations may be cited as The Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 and shall come into operation on 17th February 2016.
2.—(1) The Disabled Persons (Badges for Motor Vehicles) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993(1) is amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) In regulation 4 (descriptions of disabled persons)—
(a)in paragraph (1)(b) for “2” substitute “3”; and
(b)after paragraph (2)(d) insert—
“(dd)has—
(i)received a lump sum benefit under article 15(1)(a) of the Armed Forces and Reserve Forces (Compensation Scheme) Order 2011(2) within tariff levels 1 to 8 (inclusive); and
(ii)been certified by the Secretary of State as having a permanent and substantial disability which causes inability to walk or very considerable difficulty in walking;”.
(3) In regulation 5 (period for which a badge issues) in paragraph (a) for “second” substitute “third”.
