The Fisheries (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015

The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (1), makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 26(1), 89 and 95(1) (of the Fisheries Act (Northern Ireland) 1966 (2) and now vested in it (3).

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fisheries (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 and come into operation on 1^st June 2015.

Amendment of the Fisheries Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014

2. The Fisheries Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2014(4) shall be amended as provided in Regulation 3.

Exemptions to Catch and Release for Salmon Angling

3. For Schedule 7 (List of Waters where Catch and Release for Salmon Angling does not apply) there shall be substituted the following Schedule:

List of Waters (1)	Dates when catch and release does not apply (2)	Restrictions on number and length of salmon which may be retained in respect of each person (3)
Lough Melvin (Co. Fermanagh)	1st February to 30th September in any year (both dates inclusive)	1st February to 30th September (both dates inclusive) – 2 salmon
Glenarm River (Co. Antrim)	1^st June to 31^st October in any year (both dates inclusive)	1^st June to 31^st October (both dates inclusive) – 2 salmon
Clady River (Co. Londonderry)	1^st June to 31^st October in any year (both dates inclusive)	1^st June to 31^st October (both dates inclusive) – 2 salmon”

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the list of waters which are now exempt from catch and release for salmon angling.
