The Department of Education makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 34 of and paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 to the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1998(1).
1. These Regulations may be cited as the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (Constitution) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 and shall come into operation on 20th May 2015.
2. In regulation 7 (appointed members) of the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (Constitution) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001(2) in paragraph (b), for sub-paragraph (i) substitute—
“(i)the Education Authority;”.

These Regulations amend the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (Constitution) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001 to replace a reference to the Association of Education and Library Boards as an appointing body with a reference to the Education Authority.
