The Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister M1 makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 50 and 51 of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 M2 and now vested in it M3 .

1.  This Order may be cited as the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2013 and shall come into operation on 31^st March 2013.

Amendment of the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 N.I.

2.  For the Schedule to the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 M4 substitute the Schedule set out in the Schedule to this Order.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 (“the 2004 Order”) which specifies a number of persons or bodies as public authorities for certain purposes under Part VII of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 (“the 1998 Order”).

The Schedule to the 2004 Order lists in Part I the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 52 to 65 of the 1998 Order and in Part II the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 62 to 65 of the 1998 Order.

Article 2 of this Order substitutes a new Schedule to the 2004 Order.

The following body has been deleted from Part I of the Schedule:

The Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service (which is covered in Part II as it is part of a Northern Ireland Department)

Amendments have been made by moving the following bodies in the Schedule:

Northern Ireland Judicial Appointments Commission (from Part II to Part I)

The Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland (from Part I to Part II)

Food Standards Agency Northern Ireland (from Part I to Part II)

Article 3 revokes the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2012.
