1. These Regulations may be cited as the Licensing (Requirements for Conference Centre) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and shall come into operation on 1 September 2012.
2.—(1) The Licensing (Requirements for Conference Centre) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997 (4) are amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).
(2) In regulation 2(f) for sub-paragraph (iii) substitute—
“(iii)an assessment pursuant to the provisions of Articles 25 and 26 of The Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006(5).”
(3) In Regulation 3 omit the words—
““authorised member of the fire brigade” has the meaning assigned to it by Article 21 of the Fire Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1984.”

These Regulations amend the Licensing (Requirements for Conference Centre) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997 to which premises must conform before they may be awarded a certificate by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board for the purposes of securing a licence for the sale by retail of intoxicating liquor.
Following the revocation of fire certificate regime under The Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 (which took effect on 15 November 2010) a conference centre must have an assessment pursuant to the provisions of Articles 25 and 26 of The Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006.
