PENSIONS

This Order brings into operation further amendments contained in the Pensions Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 (“the Act”) in consequence of the abolition of contracting-out of the state additional pension for defined contribution pension schemes from 6th April 2012. The Order brings into operation—in so far as it is not already in operation, paragraph 59 of Schedule 4 to the Act, as amended by section 25 of the Pensions Act (Northern Ireland) 2012 (c. 3 (N.I.)), on 7th June 2012, andcertain consequential repeals in Part 7 of Schedule 6 to the Act on 7th June 2012 and 6th April 2015.
