The Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, in exercise of the powers conferred by Articles 19(1)(b) and 27(1) and (2) of the Safety of Sports Grounds (Northern Ireland) Order 2006(1), makes the following Regulations after consultation with such persons and bodies as appeared to it appropriate:

Citation and commencement

1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Safety of Sports Grounds (Fees and Appeals) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and shall come into operation on 31st July 2012.

Amendment of the Safety of Sports (Fees and Appeals) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009

2.—(1) The Safety of Sports Grounds (Fees and Appeals) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009 (2) shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) and (3).

(2) In regulation 3 (fees) in paragraphs (c) and (d) for “certificate” substitute “general safety certificate”.

(3) After regulation 3(d) insert—

(e)issue of a special safety certificate for a designated ground £100;

(f)amendment, replacement or transfer of a special safety certificate for a designated ground £50;

(g)issue of a special safety certificate for a regulated stand £50;

(h)amendment, replacement or transfer of a special safety certificate for a regulated stand £25.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Safety of Sports Grounds (Fees and Appeals) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009

1.  The Regulations prescribe the fees to be charged by district councils in respect of the issue, amendment, replacement or transfer of special safety certificates for designated sports grounds and regulated stands.
