The Department of the Environment, makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721.

The Department of the Environment is designated2 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act in relation to the regulation of the type, description, construction or equipment of vehicles and the regulation and supervision of the working conditions of persons engaged in road transport.
