Appointed days

2.—(1) The day appointed for the coming into operation of section 13 of the Act (mobility component) is—

(a)23rd September 2010, for the purpose only of conferring power to make regulations;

(b)15th October 2010, for the purposes only of assessing claims and making decisions on eligibility; and

(c)11th April 2011 for all other purposes.

(2) 23rd September 2010 is the day appointed for the coming into operation of—

(a)section 10 of the Act (power to direct claimant to undertake specific work-related activity);

(b)section 21 of the Act (repeal of sections 53 to 57 of the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act (Northern Ireland) 2000(1);

(c)the entries in Part 3 of Schedule 4 to the Act (social security: other repeals) in respect of—

(i)section 149(5) of the Social Security Administration (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(2), paragraph (af) of the definition of “the relevant enactments”;

(ii)paragraph 3(e) of Schedule 3 to the Social Security (Northern Ireland) Order 1998(3);

(iii)the Child Support, Pensions and Social Security Act (Northern Ireland) 2000;

(iv)the Social Security Fraud Act (Northern Ireland) 2001(4);

(v)the State Pension Credit Act (Northern Ireland) 2002(5); and

(vi)paragraphs 13 and 14(3) of Schedule 3 to the Welfare Reform Act (Northern Ireland) 2007(6).

(d)section 34(1) of the Act (repeals) so far as relating to the entries in sub-paragraph (c).
