The Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) (Amendment No. 2) By-Laws (Northern Ireland) 2009

The Department of the Environment makes the following By-Laws in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 65(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1).

Citation and commencement

1. These By-Laws may be cited as the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) (Amendment No. 2) By-Laws (Northern Ireland) 2009 and shall come into operation on 17^th August 2009.

By-Laws amended

2. In the Schedule to the By-Laws made in respect of Motor Hackney Carriages standing or plying for hire made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4^th June 1951(2), after the entry for Brunswick Street insert—

“CHICHESTER STREET

North Side: from a point 38 metres west of the west kerbline of Victoria Street for a distance of 53 metres in a westerly direction. Carriages shall stand in a single line by the kerbline and parallel therewith facing east.

At any time”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the By-Laws)

These By-Laws further amend the Schedule to the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) By-Laws made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4^th June 1951 by making provision for a new taxi stand on the north side of Chichester Street.
