In these Regulations—

• “the Department” means the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development;

• “the Directive” means Directive 2003/99/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the monitoring of zoonoses and zoonotic agents, amending Council Decision 90/424/EEC and repealing Council Directive 92/117/EEC4; and

• “inspector” means a person appointed by the Department to be an inspector for the purposes of these Regulations.

Expressions that are not defined in these Regulations and occur in the Directive have the same meaning in these Regulations as they have for the purposes of the Directive.

The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 19545 shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
