Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007

Citation, commencement, interpretation and retrospection

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 and shall come into operation in accordance with paragraph (2).

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation as follows—

(a) Parts 1, 2 and Part 4 on 6th April 2006;

(b) Part 3 on 1st October 2006;

(c) Part 5 and regulation 63 on 1st April 2007; and

(d) Part 6 (except regulation 63) on 1st July 2006.

(3) In these Regulations—

“the 2000 Regulations” mean the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2000(1);

“the principal Regulations” mean the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002(2); and

“the Scheme” means the occupational pension scheme constituted by the principal Regulations, the Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment No. 2 and Transitional Provisions) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002(3) and the 2000 Regulations (so far as they operate).
