Amendment to regulation 42 (speed limiters fitted to buses and coaches)
2.—(1) Regulation 42 of the principal Regulations(1) shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (8).
(2) In paragraph (2)(a), for “20th June 2005” there shall be substituted “1st January 2005”.
(3) In paragraph (3)(a), for “20th June 2005” there shall be substituted “1st January 2005”.
(4) In paragraph (4)—
(a)in sub-paragraph (a), for “20th June 2005” there shall be substituted “1st January 2005”; and
(b)in sub-paragraph (b), after the word “values” there shall be inserted “in respect of “Euro III” emission standards”.
(5) In paragraph (5)(b), for “20th June 2007” there shall be substituted “1st January 2007”.
(6) In paragraph (6), for “20th June 2008” there shall be substituted “1st January 2008”.
(7) In paragraph (8), for the words “is first used before 20th June 2005” there shall be substituted “was first used before 1st January 2005”.
(8) In paragraph (14), after the definition of “equivalent standard” there shall be inserted the following definition—
““Euro III” emission standards” means the emission limits given in row A of the tables in section 6.2.1 of Annex 1 to Directive 1999/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council(2) (amending Council Directive 88/77/EEC);”.
