This Order, which is the fifth to be made under the Access to Justice (Northern Ireland) Order 2003, brings into operation on 20th March 2006 further provisions in that Order.
Paragraph 15 of Schedule 4 to the 2003 Order amends the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to list the Northern Ireland Legal Services Commission as a public authority for the purposes of that Act.
This Commencement Order also repeals the provision in the Legal Aid, Advice and Assistance (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 relating to the appointment and function of the Lord Chancellor’s Legal Aid Advisory Committee.
