Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2005

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Fair Employment (Specification of Public Authorities) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 (“the 2004 Order”) which specifies a number of persons or bodies as public authorities for certain purposes under Part VII of the Fair Employment and Treatment (Northern Ireland) Order 1998 (“the 1998 Order”) and provides for the persons who are to be treated for such purposes as the employees of some of those authorities.

The Schedule to the 2004 Order lists in Part I the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 52 to 65 of the 1998 Order and in Part II the bodies who are public authorities for the purposes of Articles 62 to 65 of the 1998 Order.

Article 2 of this Order substitutes a new Schedule to the 2004 Order.

The following bodies are added to the Schedule:

• Part I

  The Food Standards Agency Northern Ireland

  The National Heritage Memorial Fund

  Northern Ireland Health and Personal Social Services Regulation and Improvement Authority

  The National Lotteries Charities Board

  The New Opportunities Fund

• Part II

  The Meat and Livestock Commission

The following Amendments have been made to the Schedule:

• The governing body of the Armagh College of Further Education is now listed in Part I as the governing body of the Armagh College of Further and Higher Education

• The Northern Ireland Health and Personal Social Services Regulation and Improvement Authority is now listed in Part I rather than Part II.

• The Board of Governors of Stranmillis University College, Belfast is now listed in Part I as the governing body of Stranmillis University College, Belfast.
