15. In section 43(1) (further provisions concerning entitlement to guaranteed minimum pensions for the purposes of section 42)—
(a)in subsection (1) after “widower” there shall be inserted “or surviving civil partner”;
(b)in subsection (3)—
(i)for “widow or widower”, in each place where it occurs, there shall be substituted “widow, widower or surviving civil partner”, and
(ii)for “widow’s or widower's” there shall be substituted “widow's, widower’s or surviving civil partner's”.
Subsection (1) was amended by section 18 of the State Pension Credit Act (Northern Ireland) 2002 (c. 14 (N.I.)) and by paragraph 55 of Schedule 1 to the Social Security (Incapacity for Work) (Northern Ireland) Order 1994 (S.I. 1994/1898 (N.I. 12)); subsection (3) was amended by article 20 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Consequential Amendments) Order 2002 (S.I. 2002/1555)
