Coming into operation
1st October 2005
The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Articles 61(1), 66(1) and 218(1) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, and with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel(2), hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2005.
2. In the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985(3) for Schedule 7 there shall be substituted –
Regulations 4A(1), 5(3), 9(2), (3), (5) and (6), and 12(1)
3. The Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003(4) are hereby revoked.

These Regulations amend the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985 by increasing some of the fees payable –
(1) For an initial application for a vehicle licence (regulation 5(3)) the following fees have increased –
(a)Buses –
Class I, II and III from £63·50 to £83·00;
Class IA, from £75·00 to £95·00;
Class IIA, from £86·50 to £107·50; and
Class IIIA, from £97·50 to £119·50.
(b)Taxi, from £120·00 to £122·00.
(2) For a re-application for a vehicle licence (regulation 9(2)) the following fees have increased –
(a)Buses –
Class I, II and III from £63·50 to £83·00;
Class IA, from £75·00 to £95·00;
Class IIA, from £86·50 to £107·50; and
Class IIIA, from £97·50 to £119·50.
(b)Taxi, from £120·00 to £122·00.
(3) For a re-application for a vehicle licence made within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal (regulation 9(3)) the following fees have increased –
(a)Buses –
All classes, from £18·50 to £19·50.
(b)Taxi, from £18·50 to £19·50.
(4) For a re-application for a vehicle licence made under regulation 9(4) within 21 days from the date of the service of the notice of refusal (see regulation 9(5)) the following fees have increased –
Buses –
Class IA, from £18·50 to £19·50;
Class IIA, from £30·00 to £32·00; and
Class IIIA, from £42·00 to £45·00.
(5) All other fees remain unchanged.
The Public Service Vehicles (Licence Fees) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 are revoked.
