Subject to paragraphs (2) and (3), the provisions of the Act specified in Schedule 2 to this Order shall come into force on 15th June 2005.

Section 5(2) to (9) of the Act shall come into force in relation to the appointment of lay magistrates on 10th December 2005.

Section 5(2) to (9) of the Act shall not apply to an appointment to any listed judicial office other than lay magistrates or a recommendation for such appointment, where the position was advertised before 15th June 2005.
