Coming into operation

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development1, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 50(1) of the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 19812 and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, with the approval of the Department of Finance and Personnel, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals (Valuation) (Fees) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2004.

Fees2

An appeal to a tribunal by an owner of a bovine animal submitted under Article 17(1)(b) of the Brucellosis Control Order (Northern Ireland) 20043 or Article 11A(1)(b) of the Tuberculosis Control Order (Northern Ireland) 19994 shall be accompanied by a fee of £100·00 in respect thereof.

This Order prescribes the fee to be paid by the owner of a bovine animal when submitting an appeal to a tribunal under Article 17(1)(b) of the Brucellosis Control Order (Northern Ireland) 2004 or Article 11A(1)(b) of the Tuberculosis Control Order (Northern Ireland) 1999. These Articles make provision for the owner of a bovine animal to submit an appeal if dissatisfied with the determination of market value, for the purposes of compensation, in respect of an animal slaughtered, or liable to be slaughtered, by the Department.
