This is the original version (as it was originally made). Northern Ireland Statutory Rules are not carried in their revised form on this site.
(This note is not part of the Regulations.)
These Regulations revoke the Artificial Insemination (Sheep) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1981.
The effect of this revocation is that –
1. persons operating private artificial insemination centres in respect of sheep and persons who are owners of flocks of sheep (or full time employees of such persons who are nominated by them) practicing artificial insemination of ewes in their own flocks are not required to be licensed by the Department; and
2. the Department is no longer responsible for approving and regulating the collection, storage, distribution, sale and use of ram semen.
