Coming into operation
1st July 2004
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Artificial Insemination (Sheep) (Revocation) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2004 and shall come into operation on 1st July 2004.
2. The Artificial Insemination (Sheep) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1981(3) are hereby revoked.

These Regulations revoke the Artificial Insemination (Sheep) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1981.
The effect of this revocation is that –
1. persons operating private artificial insemination centres in respect of sheep and persons who are owners of flocks of sheep (or full time employees of such persons who are nominated by them) practicing artificial insemination of ewes in their own flocks are not required to be licensed by the Department; and
2. the Department is no longer responsible for approving and regulating the collection, storage, distribution, sale and use of ram semen.
