HEALTH AND PERSONAL SOCIAL SERVICES

The Health and Personal Social Services (2001 Act) (Commencement No. 6) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety(1) in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 61(2) of the Health and Personal Social Services Act (Northern Ireland) 2001(2) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Health and Personal Social Services (2001 Act) (Commencement No. 6) Order (Northern Ireland) 2004.

(2) In this Order:

“the Act” means the Health and Personal Social Services Act (Northern Ireland) 2001.

Appointed days

2.  1st April 2004 is the day appointed for the coming into operation of the following provisions of the Act –

(a)section 49 (Disqualification of Part VI Practitioners),

(b)Schedule 2 (Schedule 11 to the Principal Order as substituted).

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order brings into operation on 1st April 2004 certain provisions of the Health and Personal Social Services Act (Northern Ireland) 2001 (“the Act”), namely section 49 (Disqualification of Part VI practitioners). This allows for Schedule 11 to the Health and Social Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1972 (N.I. 14) to be substituted by the Schedule set out in Schedule 2 of the Act.

The following provisions of the Health and Personal Social Services Act (Northern Ireland) 2001 have been brought into operation by the Health and Personal Social Services (2001 Act) (Commencement No. 1) Order (Northern Ireland) 2001 (S.R. 2001 No. 128 (C. 5)):
