1. These Regulations may be cited as the Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st December 2003.
2. Anthracite, semi-anthracite, electricity, gas, low volatile steam coals and the fuels described in the Schedule are hereby prescribed as authorised fuels for the purposes of the Order.
3.—(1) Subject to paragraph (2) the Smoke Control Areas (Authorised Fuels) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999(1) are hereby revoked.
(2) Any fuel manufactured before 1st December 2003 which immediately before that date was an authorised fuel shall continue to be an authorised fuel notwithstanding the revocation of the Regulations specified in paragraph (1).
