The State Pension Credit (2002 Act) (Commencement No. 4) and Appointed Day Order (Northern Ireland) 2003

The Department for Social Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 21(2) of the State Pension Credit Act (Northern Ireland) 2002(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation

1.  This Order may be cited as the State Pension Credit (2002 Act) (Commencement No. 4) and Appointed Day Order (Northern Ireland) 2003.

Appointed day

2.  The day appointed for –

(a)the coming into operation of the State Pension Credit Act (Northern Ireland) 2002 (in so far as it is not already in operation); and

(b)the purposes of section 13 of that Act,

is 6th October 2003.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order brings into operation on 6th October 2003 those provisions of the State Pension Credit Act (Northern Ireland) 2002 (“the Act”) which are not already in operation and appoints that day as “the appointed day” for the purposes of section 13 of the Act (transitional provisions).

This Order does not impose a charge on business.
