Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) (Amendment) By-Laws (Northern Ireland) 2003

The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 65(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(1) and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following By-Laws:
Citation and commencement
1. These By-Laws may be cited as the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) (Amendment) By-Laws (Northern Ireland) 2003 and shall come into operation on 1st October 2003.
By-Laws amended
2. In the Schedule to the By-Laws made in respect of Motor Hackney Carriages standing or plying for hire made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4th June 1951(2), after the entry for Malone Road there shall be added –
“UNIVERSITY STREET | South Side: from a point approximately 35 metres east of the east kerbline of Botanic Avenue for a distance of 24 metres in an easterly direction. Carriages shall stand in a single line by the kerbline and parallel therewith. | 4 | Between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 8.00 a.m.”. |

Explanatory Note
(This note is not part of the By-Laws.)
These By-Laws amend the Schedule to the Motor Hackney Carriages (Belfast) By-Laws made by the Council of the County Borough of Belfast on 4th June 1951 by making provision for a new taxi stand at University Street.
