ADOPTION

These Regulations implement the 1993 Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-operation in respect of Intercountry Adoption concluded at the Hague on 29th May 1993.

The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety1, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 1(1), (3) and (5) of the Adoption (Intercountry Aspects) Act (Northern Ireland) 20012 and Articles 10 and 16A3 of the Adoption (Northern Ireland) Order 19874 and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
