These Regulations amend the Motor Vehicle Testing Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1995 by increasing most of the fees payable for examinations, re-examinations and appeals as follows –
(1) Examinations, re-examinations and appeals under regulations 7(2), 10(3) and 15(1) –
(a)for vehicles in Classes I or II, from £17·50 to £20·50;
(b)for vehicles in Classes III or IV, from £25·00 to £28·00;
(c)for vehicles in Class V, from £35·50 to £38·50;
(d)for vehicles in Class VA –
(i)with 13 to 16 seats, exclusive of the driver, from £47·00 to £50·00;
(ii)with 17 to 35 seats, exclusive of the driver, from £58·00 to £61·00;
(iii)with more than 35 seats, exclusive of the driver, from £72·50 to £75·50;
(e)for vehicles in Class VI, from £35·50 to £38·50; and
(f)for vehicles in Class VIA, from £47·00 to £50·00.
(2) Re-examination made within 21 days of the issue of the notice of refusal under regulation 10(4) –
(a)for vehicles in Class I or II, from £12·00 to £13·00;
(b)for vehicles in Class III or IV, from £16·00 to £17·50; and
(c)for vehicles in Class VA –
(i)with 13 to 16 seats, exclusive of the driver, no change to fee at £18·50;
(ii)with 17 to 35 seats, exclusive of the driver, from £18·50 to £30·00;
(iii)with more than 35 seats, exclusive of the driver, from £18·50 to £41·00;
(d)for vehicles in Class V, VI or VIA, no change to fee at £18·50.
(3) Re-examination made within 21 days of the issue of notice of refusal under regulation 10(5) the fees have not changed.
(4) Fees payable for a full examination under Article 81 of the Road Traffic (Northern Ireland) Order 1995 (“the Order”) have changed –
(a)for vehicles in Classes I or II, from £12·00 to £20·50;
(b)for vehicles in Classes III or IV, from £18·50 to £28·00;
(c)for vehicles in Class V, from £24·00 to £38·50;
(d)for vehicles in Class VA –
(i)with 13 to 16 seats, exclusive of the driver, from £34·00 to £50·00;
(ii)with 17 to 35 seats, exclusive of the driver, from £43·00 to £61·00;
(iii)with more than 35 seats, exclusive of the driver, from £52·50 to £75·50;
(e)for vehicles in Class VI, from £24·00 to £38·50;
(f)for vehicles in Class VIA, from £34·00 to £50·00;
(g)for Public service vehicles (not being taxis) from £46·50 to £63·50;
(h)for Taxis from £38·50 to £61·50;
(i)for Goods vehicles of 3,500 kgs maximum gross weight or under from £18·50 to £28·00;
(j)for Goods vehicles over 3,500 kgs gross weight –
(i)2 axle rigid vehicle from £24·50 to £35·00;
(ii)3 axle rigid vehicle from £30·00 to £45·00;
(iii)4 axle rigid vehicle from £36·50 to £56·00;
(iv)articulated vehicle having a 2 axle drawing vehicle from £26·50 to £39·00;
(v)articulated vehicle having a 3 axle drawing vehicle from £34·00 to £51·00;
(k)for trailers the previous single fee of £23·50 is now –
(i)for a 1 axle trailer £32·50;
(ii)for a 2 axle trailer £33·50;
(iii)for a 3 axle trailer £34·50.
(5) Fees payable for a test under Article 75(5), or a partial inspection under Article 81 of the Order have increased –
(a)for vehicles in Class I or II from £8·50 to £13·00;
(b)for vehicles in Class III or IV from £10·50 to £17·50;
(c)for vehicles in Class V from £13·50 to £18·50;
(d)for vehicles in Class VI from £13·50 to £18·50;
(e)for Public service vehicles not being taxis from £13·50 to £18·50;
(f)for Taxis from £12·00 to £18·50;
(g)for Goods vehicles of 3,500 kgs maximum gross weight or under from £11·00 to £17·50;
(h)for Goods vehicles over 3,500 kgs maximum gross weight from £14·00 to £17·50;
(i)for Trailers from £14·00 to £18·50.
The fee payable for articulated vehicles is £18·50.
(6) The fee payable for a duplicate test certficate for any vehicle remains unchanged at £10·00.
