Citation, commencement and interpretation1

These Regulations may be cited as the Income Support (General) and Jobseeker’s Allowance (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2002 and shall come into operation on 17th June 2002.

The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 19544 shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Assembly.
Amendment of the Income Support (General) Regulations and the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations2
In paragraph (b) of the definition of “self-employment route” in both regulation 2(1) of the Income Support (General) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19875 and regulation 1(2) of the Jobseeker’s Allowance Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19966 (interpretation)—
a
at the end of sub-paragraph (i), “or” shall be omitted;
b
at the end of sub-paragraph (ii), there shall be added the following sub-paragraph—
or
iii
the New Deal for Lone Parents7;
