(This note is not part of the Regulations.)
These Regulations amend the Dogs (Licensing and Identification) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1983 by setting out, for the period 1st January 2002 up to and including 31st December 2005, the shape, dimensions and colour of licence identification discs issued by district councils.
While the shape and dimensions of the disc remain unchanged throughout the period, its colour varies each year so that it must be blue where a dog licence or block licence is issued in 2002, orange where such a licence is issued in 2003, green where such a licence is issued in 2004, and yellow where such a licence is issued in 2005.
The Regulations also revoke the Dogs (Licensing and Identification) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985, the Dogs (Licensing and Identification) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1985 and the Dogs (Licensing and Identification) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997.
