The Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety(1), being a department designated(2) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(3) in relation to measures relating to the minimum health and safety requirements for the workplace that relate to fire safety, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section and by Articles 48 and 49(6) of the Fire Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1984(4), and now vested in it(5), and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
