1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Community Drivers' Hours (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Temporary Exception) (No. 2) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001 and shall come into operation on 7th July 2001.
(2) The Interpretation Act (Northern Ireland) 1954(1) shall apply to these Regulations as it applies to an Act of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
2. The Community Drivers' Hours (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Temporary Exception) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001(2) shall be amended as follows—
(a)in regulation 2(1) (Interpretation), after the definition of “machinery” there shall be added the following definition—
““prescribed period” means the period of 30 days beginning on 6th July 2001;”, and
(b)in regulation 3(1), the phrase “until 7th July” and the figure “2001” wherever it appears shall be deleted and after “vehicle” there shall be inserted “in the prescribed period”.
