These Regulations implement in Northern Ireland Commission Decision 2001/430/EC (O.J. No. L153, 8.6.2001, p. 33) amending for the third time Commission Decision 2001/356/EC (O.J. No. L125, 5.5.2001, p. 46) concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom.
The Regulations revoke the Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2001, (S.R. 2001 No. 204). The effect is to remove protection measures which restrict the import and export of certain animal and animal products with regard to the control of foot-and-mouth disease.
