Citation, commencement and interpretation

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1999 and shall come into operation on 19th February 1999.

(2) In this Order “the Order” means the Betting, Gaming, Lotteries and Amusements (Northern Ireland) Order 1985.

Maximum amount of weekly winnings in games of bingo played simultaneously on different bingo club premises

2.  For the purposes of Article 75(2)(ii) of the Order instead of £25,000(1) the amount £30,000 is hereby specified.

Maximum amount by which weekly winnings on bingo club premises may exceed the stakes hazarded

3.  For the purposes of Article 76(5) of the Order instead of £5,000(2) the amount £5,500 is hereby specified.

Maximum charge for playing a game once by means of a gaming machine in a registered club

4.  For the purposes of Article 106(3) of the Order instead of “£0.30”(3) the sum of “£0.50” is hereby specified.

Maximum entitlement to prizes in gaming by means of a gaming machine on licensed premises within the meaning of the Licensing (Northern Ireland) Order 1996

5.  In Article 108(8) and (9) of the Order for “£10”(4) there shall be substituted “£15”.

Revocations

6.  The following are hereby revoked–

(a)Articles 2, 3 and 5 of the Gaming and Amusements with Prizes (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996(5);

(b)Article 3 of the Gaming (Variation of Monetary Limits) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998(6).
