Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order, specifies programmes of study for key stages 3 and 4 and an attainment target for key stage 3 in relation to Technology and Design by reference to provisions in a Document published by The Stationery Office and entitled “Key Stages 3 and 4, Programmes of Study and Attainment Target, Technology and Design”.

The Order accordingly directs that the programmes of study for key stages 3 and 4 and attainment target for key stage 3 set out in that Document shall have effect for these key stages.

This Order revokes (with a saving) the Curriculum (Programmes of Study and Attainment Target in Technology and Design at Key Stages 3 and 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996.

This Order comes into operation from 1st August 1999 in relation to key stage 3 and from 1st August 2000 in relation to the first year of key stage 4 and from 1st August 2001 in relation to the second year of key stage 4.
