1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Spreadable Fats (Marketing Standards) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1998 and shall come into operation on 14th December 1998.
(2) In these Regulations “the principal Regulations” means the Spreadable Fats (Marketing Standards) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996(1).
2. The principal Regulations shall be amended in accordance with regulations 3 and 4.
3. In regulation 2(1) (interpretation), in the definition of “the Commission Regulation”, for “and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2181/97(2)” there shall be substituted “, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 2181/97, Commission Regulation (EC) No. 623/98(3) and Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1298/98(4)”.
4. In Schedule 1 (Community provisions), in paragraph 2, in column 3 (subject matter) for the existing entry there shall be substituted—
“Restrictions on use of the designation “butter” for composite products”.
