Citation and commencement

1.  This Order may be cited as the Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st November 1998.

Fees payable

2.  The fee payable under a statutory provision specified in column 1 of the Schedule in respect of the matter specified in relation to it in column 2 shall be the fee specified in relation to it in column 3.

Fees under the Marriage Act 1983

3.—(1) Any fee payable under any provision of the Marriage Act 1983 specified in column 1 of the Schedule in respect of any matter specified in relation to it in column 2 shall be payable by the person who gives notice of intention to marry under section 3(2) of that Act, except that no such fee shall be payable by any person who is in receipt of benefit under section 122(1)(a) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits (Northern Ireland) Act 1992(1).

(2) Any fee payable by virtue of paragraph (1) shall be payable to the Registrar General.

Revocation

4.  The Births, Deaths and Marriages (Fees) Order (Northern Ireland) 1995(2) is hereby revoked.
