The Department of Health and Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 10(1) of the Health and Personal Social Services (Northern Ireland) Order 1991(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, having consulted the persons or bodies referred to in Article 10(2) of that Order, hereby makes the following order:

Citation and commencement

1.  This order may be cited as the Belfast City Hospital Health and Social Services Trust (Establishment) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1998.

Amendment to the Belfast City Hospital Health and Social Services Trust (Establishment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992

2.  Article 3(2) of the Belfast City Hospital Health and Social Services Trust (Establishment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992(2) shall be amended as follows—

(a) the word “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (a) shall be omitted; and

(b) after sub-paragraph (a) there shall be inserted—

“(aa) to own and manage hospital accommodation and services at the Belvoir Park Hospital, Hospital Road, Belfast BT8 8JR and associated premises; and”

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order amends the Belfast City Hospital Health and Social Services Trust (Establishment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1992 with effect from 1st September 1998. It amends the functions of the Belfast City Hospital Trust to include the ownership and management of hospital accommodation at Belvoir Park Hospital and associated premises.
