2.  The following provisions of the Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997 shall come into operation on 17th September 1998—

• Article 1,

• Article 2(1), (2) (in so far as it relates to the definitions of “controlled waste”, “the Department”, “disposal”, “household waste” and “regulations”), (3), (7), (8),

• Article 5 (in so far as it relates to the definition of “broker”),

• Article 30,

• Article 44 (in so far as it relates to the Department),

• Article 48,

• Article 76,

• Articles 78 to 82,

• Paragraph 4 of Schedule 5 and Article 83(1) in so far as it relates to it,

• The following repeal in Schedule 6 and Article 83(2) in so far as it relates to it—

• Article 17 of the Pollution Control and Local Government (Northern Ireland) Order 1978(1).
