Registration of Clubs (Display of Notice) Regulation (Northern Ireland) 1997

Coming into operation

The Department of Health and Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by paragraph 1(1)(d) of Schedule 2 to the Registration of Clubs (Northern Ireland) Order 19961 and of every other power enabling it in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Clubs (Display of Notice) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997 and shall come into operation on 25th March 1997.

Display of notice of application2

For the purposes of paragraph 1(1)(d) of Schedule 2 to the Registration of Clubs (Northern Ireland) Order 1996, a notice of application for the grant of registration of a club shall be displayed outside the club premises in a place which is—

a

at or near the principal entrance to those premises and, where practicable on a notice board; and

b

where it may readily be seen and conveniently be read by the public.

Revocation3

The Registration of Clubs (Display of Notice) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 19882 are hereby revoked insofar as they remain in force.

These regulations specify the manner in which a notice of application for the grant of registration of a club must be displayed at the premises for which the grant is sought.

Regulation 2 requires that notice of that application is displayed at or near the principal entrance to those premises, and outside, on a notice board where practicable, but in any case, where it can readily be seen and conveniently be read by the public.

These regulations revoke the Registration of Clubs (Display of Notice) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1988.
