2. An animal to which the provisions of paragraph 2(e), 4 or 5 of Schedule 3 to the Welfare of Animals (Slaughter or Killing) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 applies shall not be subjected to an ante-mortem health inspection in accordance with paragraph 1 if it is not reasonably practicable for such an inspection to be carried out before it is necessary for the animal to be slaughtered.
