Part III Dangerous Occurrences which are Reportable in Relation to Quarries

Explosions or fires in vehicles or plant

47.—(1) Any explosion or fire occurring in any large vehicle or mobile plant which results in the stoppage of that vehicle or plant for more than 24 hours and which affects—

(a) any place where persons normally work; or

(b) the route of egress from such a place.

(2) In this paragraph, “large vehicle or mobile plant” means—

(a) a dump truck having a load capacity of at least 50 tonnes; or

(b) an excavator having a bucket capacity of at least 5 cubic metres.
