The Secretary of State, in pursuance of section 26 of the Police Act (Northern Ireland) 1970(1) and after consulting, in accordance with section 34(2) of that Act, the Police Authority and the Police Association, hereby makes the following regulations:—
1. These regulations may be cited as the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (Part-time) (Appointment and Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Regulations 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1997.
2. Regulation 6 (qualifications for appointment to the force) of the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (Part-time) (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Regulations 1996(2) shall be amended by substituting for the words “1894” in paragraph (2)(b) the words “1995” and for the words “1894 c. 60” in the associated footnote the words “1995 c. 21”.
