Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (Full-time) (Appointment and Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Regulations 1997

Citation and commencement

1.  These regulations may be cited as the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (Full-time) (Appointment and Conditions of Service) (Amendment) Regulations 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1997.

Amendment of the Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (Full-time) (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Regulations 1996

2.—(1) The Royal Ulster Constabulary Reserve (Full-time) (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Regulations 1996(1) shall be amended in accordance with paragraphs (2) to (9).

(2) In regulation 9 (qualifications for appointment to the force) there shall be substituted for the words “1894” in paragraph (2)(b) the words “1995” and for the words “1894 c. 60” in the associated footnote the words “1995 c. 21”.

(3) In regulation 20 (variable shift arrangements) in paragraph (3) the words “to other members,” shall be omitted from sub-paragraph (b) and inserted at the end of that paragraph.

(4) After regulation 47 there shall be inserted the following regulation—

Replacement allowance

47A.  Schedule 11 shall have effect..

(5) Part II of Schedule 10 shall have effect as a separate Schedule, numbered 11.

(6) In Schedule 11 brought into existence by paragraph (5)—

(a)for the heading “Savings” there shall be substituted “Replacement allowance”; and

(b)in paragraph 1 for the word “Part” there shall be substituted the word “Schedule”.

(7) In Part VII in the Part heading the word “, Savings” shall be omitted.

(8) For regulation 53 there shall be substituted the following regulation—

Revocations

53.  The regulations specified in Schedule 10 are revoked..

(9) In Schedule 10 for the heading “Revocations and savings” there shall be substituted “Revocations” and the words “Part I” shall be omitted.
