This Order revokes and replaces with amendments the Specified Diseases (Notification and Movement Restrictions) Order (Northern Ireland) 1991, (as amended by the Specified Diseases (Notification and Movement Restrictions) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1995 and the Specified Diseases (Notification and Movement Restrictions) (Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996).
The Order makes the following principal changes—
(1) A notice declaring Northern Ireland or a specified area therein to be an infected area shall be published in such manner and to such extent as appears to the Department of Agriculture to be sufficient to bring the terms of the declaration to the attention of persons likely to be affected by it (Article 9(2));
(2) Viral haemorrhagic disease affecting rabbits is no longer a disease requiring notification under this Order (Schedule 1).
