Roads (Speed Limit) (No. 10) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order.)

This Order makes the roads and lengths of road in Schedule 1 restricted roads, thereby imposing a 30 miles per hour speed limit on those roads.

The length of road to which the item revoked under paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 relates was previously incorrectly defined. The correct length of road is now partially comprised in the length of road described in item No. 9 and partially in the greater length of road described in item No. 13 of Schedule 1.

The lengths of road to which the items revoked under paragraphs 2, 4 (item No. 60), 8, 10, 11 and 12 of Schedule 2 relate are now comprised in greater lengths of road described in item Nos. 105, 20, 59, 120, 3, 16 and 5 respectively of Schedule 1.

The length of road to which the item revoked under paragraph 3 of Schedule 2 relates has been renamed and is now comprised in the greater length of road described in item No. 121 of Schedule 1.

The lengths of road to which the items revoked under paragraphs 4 (item No. 63) and 6 of Schedule 2 relate were previously incorrectly defined. They are now correctly defined in item Nos. 19 and 31 respectively of Schedule 1.

The length of road to which the item revoked under paragraph 5 (item No. 106) of Schedule 2 relates was previously incorrectly defined. The correct length of road is now comprised in the greater length of road described in item No. 6 of Schedule 1.

The length of road to which the item revoked under paragraph 5 (item No. 216) of Schedule 2 relates is now partially comprised in the length of road described in item No. 76 and partially in the greater length of road described in item No. 77 of Schedule 1.

The roads to which the items revoked under paragraphs 5 (item No. 227) and 7 (item No. 62) of Schedule 2 relate were previously incorrectly named as Tullygally Road and Ballinska Road respectively. They have now been correctly named as Tullyally Road and Balliniska Road in item Nos. 124 and 37 respectively of Schedule 1.

The lengths of road to which the items revoked under paragraph 7 (item Nos. 63, 64 and 68) of Schedule 2 relate have been re-described because of changes in alignments at road junctions. The length of road in item No. 63 is now partially comprised in the road described in item No. 39 and in part of the road described in item No. 109 of Schedule 1. The length of road in item No. 64 is now partially comprised in the length of road described in item No. 44, in part of the length of road described in item No. 45, and in part of the road described in item No. 109 of Schedule 1. The length of road described in item No. 68 is now partially comprised in the road described in item No. 107, and in parts of the roads described in item Nos. 103 and 109 of Schedule 1.

The length of road to which the item revoked under paragraph 9 of Schedule 2 relates was previously incorrectly defined. The correct length of road is now partially comprised in the road described in item No. 1 and partially in the greater length of road described in item No. 2 of Schedule 1.
