The Department of the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Article 65(4) of the Roads (Northern Ireland) Order 1993(1) and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, and it appearing to it that they are necessary or expedient in the interests of safety and the free movement of traffic, makes the following regulations:
1. These regulations may be cited as the Road Humps (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1996 and shall come into operation on 10th February 1997.
2. The Road Humps Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1992(2) shall be amended as follows—
(1) In Article 4(b) immediately after the words “or in diagrams 1061 and 1061.1” insert the words “or in diagram 1062”; and
(2) In the Schedule after diagram 4b add the following diagrams and the words specified in or under them—

These regulations amend the Road Humps Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1992 by including cushion type humps in the specifications for road humps.
